ICYMI: Houston Astros Pitcher Mike Fiers threw a no-hitter against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night.

However, after the game: a screenshot of Fiers’ glove, which revealed what appears to be some form of goo/tar/???, went viral — fueling speculation that he may have cheated his way to this historic career milestone.

“I don’t know what they are talking about,” Fiers said to reporters after the game. “It could be a different lighting or camera angle or a lot of things. I don’t know. It could be a different lighting or camera angle or a lot of things.”

You won’t find Dodgers Manager Don Mattingly complaining about it, though, and thinks you shouldn’t either — as he told the media: “I think if you talk about stuff like that, it seems like you’re whining … I think a lot of guys use it. It’s kind of accepted unless it’s just blatantly obvious that somebody’s doing it. I had no idea during the game; nobody said anything to us.”

You be the judge — a little pine tar never hurt anybody? Or should all substances be banned, regardless of the “quantity” being used?
